Being Trusting :/

Advice, Freelancing, Graphic Design

While freelancing for a logo design, I realised being trusting is a disadvantage. A woman from my village approached me and asked me to create a logo for her studio appartments. I started working and made a proposal. I sended it to her, she was not replying. A few days after, I called her, she told me she really liked it, but she had some issues with the business, so we decided to pause it for a while. It’s been a month, she hasn’t showed up. I texted, she didn’t reply. I called, nothing. And now I get it that she won’t show up at all. Meaning I won’t even get paid for the hours I worked. Which sucks cause I’m in the position of needing money, in order to live, move and work.

People have no respect at all. They do not care that you spend your time for them, while they could do something else more trustworthy perhaps. So after this, I now know that I will have an agreement with clients, about the payment and all, so we won’t have anything like this before. Lesson learned I guess!

Instagram Fascination

social media

Most people are familiar with “Instagram”. Some have heard the word, some use it, some have an account they do not use, others have it to watch on somebody elses profile and so on. I created my account years ago. I look back on the first posts I did, I try not to delete them! I got really excited with it quickly, and I’ve been using it a lot. Keeping up with friends and all, sharing my work and things I create, showing parts of my life!

But I started really make a good use of it, when I begun to have it as an inspiration source. I started following all my favourite designers and studios, creative people, tags, and I found so many more, that I didn’t know of.

Now, Instagram has become my favourite social media platform. I have made so many lists of anything I want to keep, most of them are about design things. I spend some time everyday scrolling and arranging my lists, that I go back everytime I need to do some research for a project or find some inspiration. I usually do that before I go to sleep, because it could take hours for me to stop, but I stop when I get too sleepy so it’s fine and not that precious-time consuming.

So, that is my fascination with instagram. I love it because it gives me so much inspiration and help, for my passion and job. That is Graphic Design!
